Since Dr David Sinclair made breakthroughs on the effects of resveratrol on anti-aging there has been an increase in interest in this supplement as well as others in the field. More recently other supplements have come to the forefront as being beneficial on their own or in combination with others to promote the production of NAD+.
NAD+ has been scientifically proven to increase in our bodies when we age and studies in mice have found that boosting NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) increases both the life span as well as the quality of life these mice. There has more recently been studies in humans that suggest NAD+ precursors such as NMN (Nicotinamide mononucleotide) NR and others can also help to extend the life of humans.
While the research has not yet proven this to be the case current studies are looking good.
Back to the research of Dr David Sinclair, his more recent research has showing that using NMN along with Trans-resveratrol boosts the longevity effects on the research mice.
Other supplements that have found to be possible candidates for anti-aging and longevity supplementation in humans include:
- Vitamin D with K2
- Vitamin C
- Coenzyme Q10 CoQ10
- Hyaluronic Acid
More recently David has been involved (mouse) regenerated/repaired after being cut, this is a ground breaking finding as it proves that at some stage in the future, we may be able to re-generate, repair or reverse the effect of aging on optic nerves, spinal cords and other parts of the human body that have been damaged or are aging, which until now has not been able to be done.
The future for humans to extend our life span and life due to supplementation and other breakthroughs like gene editing using CRISPR has great hope that at some stage in the future people will be able to live double if not many times our current life span well into our 100s or even beyond.
